After crash: Binance, Strategy and BitMine Buy the Dip

|By BlockViz Insights

The February crypto crash created buying opportunities for those with deep pockets. Over the past week, Binance, Strategy and BitMine all stepped in with significant purchases.

Binance (SAFU Fund)
Binance has been steadily converting its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) from stablecoins to Bitcoin. On February 2 it bought roughly 1,315 BTC worth 100 million dollars. A second tranche of another 1,315 BTC followed by February 4, totaling about 2,630 BTC for 201 million dollars. By February 9 the SAFU address added another 4,225 BTC, pushing total SAFU holdings to over 10,455 BTC. Binance plans to complete a full one billion dollar shift within 30 days, creating steady spot demand during the volatility.

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy)
Strategy disclosed its latest quarterly results on February 4, confirming it holds 713,502 BTC as of February 1 with a cost basis of about 76k per coin. While no new buys were announced this week, the firm continued its pattern of equity‑financed accumulation into January weakness, maintaining its position as the largest corporate Bitcoin holder despite the crash.

BitMine
BitMine announced on February 9 that its staked ETH holdings reached 2.9 million tokens worth about 6.2 billion dollars at 2,125 dollars per ETH as of February 8. The update highlights ongoing treasury builds through the dip, reinforcing its Ethereum‑first strategy even as prices fell.

Quick assessment

These moves signal conviction from players who can afford to be wrong in the short term. Binance is turning its insurance fund into a Bitcoin reserve, adding reliable buying pressure. Strategy's massive stack shows no signs of wavering. BitMine's ETH focus bets on a smart contract rebound.

For the market, this is constructive: it removes supply and counters some liquidation flows. But it is not a bottom signal. These are long term plays, not short term trades. If you are positioned for years ahead, it is encouraging. If you are leveraged or short horizon, it changes little.
