JPMorgan using Ethereum infrastructure is meaningful institutional validation. But it is not automatically bullish for ETH.
JPM Coin is mainly a permissioned settlement tool for institutional payments, not a public token built to drive retail demand. The bullish case for Ethereum is indirect: major banks using Ethereum-based infrastructure strengthens its position as financial plumbing for tokenized deposits, funds, and settlement.
The catch is that permissioned systems can use Ethereum technology without relying heavily on the public mainnet. That may add credibility to Ethereum while contributing little to ETH fees, staking demand, or public-layer liquidity.
The key test is whether institutional pilots spill into public-chain activity. Rising tokenized assets, stablecoin settlement, active addresses, and fees would make the ETH case stronger. If activity stays siloed in private environments, JPM Coin is an adoption signal, not a direct ETH flow catalyst.
